YOU and ME and the THINGI is an experimental artistic act and workplace situation where the audience is offered an elevated position and a close encounter with the craftist’s work in the hot shop. In this Performance Lecture Glass Lab, I explore and reflect on the relations between audience, artist, objects and craft.
Through Research Lab Craft!, I´ve been exploring the possibility of inviting the audience as participators and co-creators in performative craft sessions in glass. It is an investigation that deals with both collaborative and social matters. It raises questions about hierarchies, positions, exposure of process and craftsmanship, as well as questioning the significance of the object. My investigation of performative and participatory craft sessions has only just begun. YOU and ME and the THINGI is more of a starting point then a final destination. The performance will be showed at the Glass Factory in Boda, Småland, on the 20th of May.
DU och JAG och GREJEN är ett experimentellt konstverk och en arbetsplatssituation där publiken sätts i en upphöjd position och får närkontakt med konsthanterkarens arbete i glashyttan. I denna performanceföreläsning i Glass Lab utforskar och reflekterar jag över relationen mellan publik, konstnär, objekt och hantverk.
I Research Lab Craft! har jag utforskat möjligheten att bjuda in publiken att delta och vara medskapare i performativt glashantverk. Det är en undersökning som rör både samarbete och sociala frågor. Den ställer frågor om hierarkier, positioner, exponering för processer och hantverk, och ifrågasätter vikten av föremålet. Min undersökning av performativt och gemensamt hantverkande har bara börjat. DU och JAG och GREJEN är mer av en utgångspunkt än ett slutmål. Performanceverket visas på Glass Factory i Boda, Småland, den 20 maj.
