I’m not dyslexia

My essay is my creation. I have chosen to print my text on fabric in order to create a relationship to the viewer. For me, as someone with dyslexia, the text is three-dimensional. It moves back and forth, even though it is two-dimensional. I am better at seeing things on the periphery than seeing the whole of long pieces of text. My strong ambivalence to my diagnosis has been a direct impediment to my education. I have not chosen to acknowledge this myself and have not chosen to be regarded as someone who has difficulty reading or writing or as someone who has less value. I cannot always understand how I think. This has left a deep impression on me that I am inadequate. That is why I can write about his, because this essay is a form of redress for me and my diagnosis.
